Certified 2018 Honda CR-V AWD EX

Posted: Thu. Nov. 7 12:10:33 2019

Thought I was getting a good price on my 2018 Honda CR-V Touring. Well, not that good. But things weren't half bad to start. They just got progressively worse and worse once I drove off the lot.
First, options I purchased weren't available at the dealer. Like Honda CR-V floor mats and a rear bumper protection plate that just sticks to the top of the bumper so you don't mess up the paint on the bumper/fascia. Took 2 days to get those items in and on the car.
Next, 1 week later the battery goes dead Saturday afternoon. They're not open then. Takes 3 days to get the battery replaced.
The passenger side power seat switch holder has never stayed on the seat more than a day. Pop it back on, and if no one dares to open and close the passenger front door, it may stay on for a few days. Open and close the door or even worse, should someone get in (!) that switch holder pops off the side of the seat and is a constant reminder of the poor quality Honda has dropped to.
Now we are up to the good stuff.
Last week, I got a load of water in gas. Not Honda's fault, not Keating's fault. The fuel company. My bad luck to stop at this store after they got a load of fuel and the driver forgot to close the fuel tank and it rained hard.
BUT it is my bad luck to own this particular vehicle. The engine that Honda raised the warranty on from 5yrs/60K miles to 10 years / unlimited mileage. The one that is only in the CR-V and Civic for 2017 and 2018. 1.5L turbocharged engine. Has the gasoline direct injection fuel system. The one that NO ONE has a fuel pump for! There isn't one in the U.S., Canada or Japan! They cannot tell me if and when it will get repaired. So now the fuel company has paid for the repairs up front, but I cannot have my CR-V back for God knows how long.
