I’ve owned quite a few Jeeps after 1/2 a century on this earth. Square Body Cherokee Sports, CJ5s, 7s and 8s, a new model Cherokee and the Renegade. At first sight I was attracted to this little Jeep for its styling and details. They made a great backstory on it and gave it personality. I drove a friends and liked it so much that I traded in my 2017 Cherokee for it. Big Mistake. It was like going 10 steps backwards rather than forward. Poor rearward and forward visibility obstructed by a thick A-Pillar and small side windows. Its a front wheel drive ‘CAR’ with as needed power to the rear wheels. All 4 wheels ride on an A-Arm set up with coil over shocks and CV Joint axles. while there’s that nifty turn dial for different levels of ‘off-road’ trails, neither made a difference. Lastly. It’s NOT A JEEP. ITS A FIAT. Built in Italy. There is nothing Jeep about this. Not Overland. Not Toledo. Not the American Designed and Built Icon that we all know.
